Allstar Weekend

Allstar Weekend is a four-piece band from San Diego.
History
Allstar were formed in the summer of 2007 by Zach Porter and Nathan Darmody, under the name Outerspace Politicians, and begun writing songs with their friend, Tom Norris. They changed their name some months later, after being discovered by Richard and Stefanie Reines of Drive-thru Records. Around this time they added to the band Cameron Quiseng, a friend of Zach's from school, and Michael Martinez, who sent in videos of himself playing their songs after finding their music on MySpace.
In 2008, AllStar competed in Radio Disney's annual "Next Big Thing" competion. Then in July 2009, the band performed on the Disney Channel Summer at Sea cruise, along with Chelsea Staub, Nicole Anderson, and Jason Dolley. In August 2009, the band signed a recording contract with Hollywood Records. It was noted that Tom was not at the contract signing, as well as didn't appear on the Summer at Sea, leading to speculation that he was no longer in the band. This was later confirmed by Zach during a Stickam chat, though no official statement was released.
Also on August 31st, Allstar performed at the Evergreen County Fair. in Washington state with Savannah Outen, Jordan Pruit and Drew Seeley, as part of DISNEY UNDER THE STARS for Radio Disney. A repeat performance also took place on Sept. 2, 2009 just a few days later at the Oregon State fairgrounds. with the same collective group of artists. Allstar was also caught on amateur video singing and freestyle dancing with Gabe Gleason and Savannah Outen at the Oregon State Fair. after signing autographs.
During the Jonas Brothers 2009 tour, they followed them around to promote their music, sometimes playing outside the venues before or after the concert. In October, they toured with School Boy Humor and Days Difference. In November 2009, they were the opening act for Selena Gomez at some of her shows.
On November 13, 2009, Tommy2.Net reported the band had changed their name to Allstar Weekend at a Private Showcase at Walt Disney Studios. Nine days later, the band confirmed on their MySpace page that they were changing their name from Allstar to Allstar Weekend, due to legal issues, but had still wanted to keep Allstar in their name.
Currently, they are in the recording studio working on new music and promoting themselves as Allstar Weekend.
