Allison Kilkenny

Allison Margaret Kilkenny (March 5, 1983) is an American social critic and contributing reporter for the Huffington Post. Kilkenny is best known for her contributions to political and humor websites like the Huffington Post, True/Slant, Talking Points Memo, 23/6, the Beast, Counterpunch.org, the Nation, and Alternet.org where she writes about a host of issues including atheism, media reform, and vegetarianism. Kilkenny is a regular guest on SIRIUS radio and also hosts the internet talk radio show Citizen Radio along with comedian and husband Jamie Kilstein.

Huffington Post
In 2007, Kilkenny became a political contributor for Huffington Post. Her first article was titled "Why Don't Young Women Care About the End of The World?", a piece criticizing the apathy of an entire generation of women.
The Beast
Kilkenny is also a regular contributor to , the biweekly newspaper founded by Matt Taibbi and Kevin McElwee in 2002. Her most popular Beast work includes: , which Kilkenny wrote shortly after comedian George Carlin's death, and in which Kilkenny praises Carlin's bravery in dealing with censorship, but also predicts the future will be corporately-controlled and independent artistic expression will be impossible.

"Youth Surviving Subprime" is featured in Katrina vanden Heuvel's new book Meltdown: How Greed and Corruption Shattered Our Financial System and How We Can Recover alongside essays by Howard Zinn, Naomi Klein, and Ralph Nader.
She has previously contributed cartoons to Huffington Post's satiric news and opinion website 23/6., as well as contributing pieces to Dave Eggers' McSweeney's, the daily-updated literature and humor site. Additionally, Kilkenny has appeared numerous times on Laura Flanders's GRITtv.
After a year of contributions, Kilkenny left True/Slant in May 2010 citing the acquisition of the website by Forbes and an incompatibility between herself and the Forbes franchise as her primary reasons for leaving
. She has since returned to her original independent and donation-driven blog, Unreported.
On May 1st 2010 Kilkenny made her debut as a feature writer for GlobalComment, an independent social commentary-based web magazine.
SIRIUS and Citizen Radio
Kilkenny is a frequent guest on the SIRIUS Satellite radio show Blog Bunker, a roundtable featuring a selection of the over 100 million bloggers around the globe. She is also the co-creator, director, and co-host of Citizen Radio (formerly Drunken Politics,) an internet political radio show, which Kilkenny and co-host comedian Jamie Kilstein describe as "being like CNN, but with more swearing." Citizen Radio is available on iTunes for free download. Past guests include: Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Ralph Nader, Melissa Harris-Lacewell, Tariq Ali, Matt Gonzalez, Eugene Jarecki, and The Thermals.
