The Alliance for Full Participation (AFP) is a formal partnership, founded in 2003, of organizations serving the developmental disabilities field. They share a commitment to the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities into the mainstream of American life. Discussion points included: * the closing of segregated institutions, schools and sheltered employment workshops * community inclusion * employment and volunteer opportunities for people with disabilities * financial support for disability services * including people with disabilities in the planning, governance and leadership of disability services and programs * an end to the usage of the term “mental retardation” * control of public funds for disability services * wages for direct support professionals * Medicaid reform
