Allan Tsui Shek Pang

Allan Tsui Shek-pang (born 1973, Hong Kong, China) is a Hong Kong theatrical set designer.
Allan studied Design at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Film/Television Production, and Theatre Set and Costume Design at the Hong Kong Academy For Performing Arts, where he obtained a Diploma in Design, a Diploma of Technical Arts (TV/Film) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree in 1995, 1996 and 2000 respectively. He served as an assistant art director for various Hong Kong film productions in the early part of his career, and has been a part-time tutor at the Academy’s School of Technical Arts and School of Film and Television. He is currently a member of the Hong Kong Film Arts Association, and the board member of the Hong Kong Association of Theatre Technicians and Scenographers(HKATTS).
Allan has been actively involved in theatre productions as set designer. Recent works include Chung Ying Theatre’s Modern Journey to the West, Theatre Ensemble’s The Secret Garden of Red Hoodlet (re-run), Trinity Theatre’s Table for Two, Love Play, and Those Were The Days, Class 7A Drama Group’s Formula in Love (as set and costume designer), Hong Kong Youth Arts Festival’s Fame, Nonsensemakers’ Finding Colour Show, Make Friends with Puppet’s Ah Dull and Little Dragon II - Magic Window, Commercial Radio’s Good Morning Manhattan!, Macao Conservatory’s The Visit (as set and costume designer), the Academy’s production West Side Dance Story and E.X.C.E.L.’s Grease. In 2006, Allan’s “Ah Dull and Little Dragon II - Magic Window”is selected in the Hong Kong Theatre Design Exhibition 2006, he will represent Hong Kong to participate in the Prague Quadrennial 2007.
Besides designing for the stage, Allan has also participated theatre education projects. He was the puppet workshop tutor and puppeteer of the Academy’s Technical Arts Exhibition Theatre Infinity, and the installation arts tutor for the Hong Kong Youth Arts Festival’s The Hong Kong Jockey Club Urban Jungle project. Allan is currently a freelance graphic designer, photographer, and theatre set, props and costume designer.
