Past Life
Alfred Alexander Gockel was born in 1952 in Ludinghausen, North-Rine Westphalia, Germany. When Alfred was little he was fascinated by the magic of color on paper. Alfred talent and enthusiasm lead to his first publication of his artwork when he was eight years old. At the age of 16, Alfred began to work in the coal mines and planned on one day becoming a engineer, but after the mining industry experienced a down fall he lost his job. Soon he join the army and after two years in the army Alfred refocused his attention on the arts and attended the Polytechnic Academey in Munster, Germany in 1973.After Alfred graduated he worked in the adversiting industry for many years. While working in the adversiting industry he lectured about his specialized fields he majored in when he was in school. Later in his life Alfred established the art publishing firm of Avant Art in 1983.
Present Life
Alfred lives now in a reside in Germany.Alfred likes to spend time with his wife named Ingrid. He likes to play tennis, takes walks in the German forest with his two dogs, or rides his Harley Davidson bike with his wife. He also likes to spend a lot of time with his wife at their favorite spot at the island Sylt.
Art Work
Alfred Gockel artwork is subdivided into two major categories:unique artwork and graphics. His unique art is mostly oil on canvas, and in some period of time he also creates aquarelles.Alfred unique art is composed with the most beautiful lighted colors,trimmed with powerful black figurers and accents.The separate colors and the black trims all fade together, and create an individual image for every spectator, no matter what culture or social position. His graphics are etching, screen prints and lithographs, and are artistically connected to the unique sector. Alfred unique style of art work is boldly colored abstract images lined in thick black against a white canvas, which is Alfreds signature.Alfred expressed some of his art work from his struggle when he was a child

Alfred has become one of the most popular distributer world wide in art posters. Alfred sales have been heard to be up to 10 million world wide, which can also be seen in design studios, private and corporate businesses, and also local businesses world wide. Alfred was also commissioned by the United States Olympic committee to create a official piece of art for the 2006 Olympic games in Turin, Italy.
