Alfonso Salvador Faustino, Jr. (born August 2, 1964) is a businessman and Republican Nominee for California's .
Personal life
Faustino was born in Charleston, South Carolina. His father, also named Alfonso, served in the United States Navy, traveling with his family from Taiwan, to parts of Europe, New York City, and ultimately to Charleston. His mother, Julie Faustino, has worked for PG&E for approximately 30 years. He currently lives and works in the Mt. Sutro neighborhood in San Francisco. He attended the University of San Francisco for his bachelor's degree, majoring in Psychology.
Business career
In 1983, Faustino began 15 years working with PG&E, at vairous non management and management positions. For the next 10 years, Faustino held upper management positions with a number of different Fortune 500 corporations, including MCI Telecommunications, infoGear Technology, American Automobile Association, Oracle, and Avaya.. In 2006 Faustino changed career paths; he moved into motion pictures and graphic design. He became involved with Metropolitan Motion Pictures, Ltd. - which financed motion pictures between $1.5 and $20 million dollars. In 2006, Metropolitan partnered with - a film production company. He currently manages his family's trust fund and private investments. He has served on the Board of Directors for Company C Contemporary Ballet, but resigned in June 2010 to focus on his Assembly campaign.
Personal Advocacy
Faustino has been a regular volunteer at PG&E's Corporate Tutoring Program, where he mentored elementary school children who lacked supplies due to budget cutbacks. He served on the Board of Directors of the Walnut Creek Ballet Company. A vocal advocate for animal rights, Faustino also contributes to the Greyhound Adoption Center in the advocacy, rescue, and adoption of racing Greyhound dogs.
12th Assembly District Candidacy
Faustino ran unopposed in the June 8 Primary Election. He faces Assemblywoman Fiona Ma in the November 2010 General Election.
