Alexander Chapman Campbell

Alexander Chapman Campbell (born 15 June 1988) is a British composer and pianist who lives in the Scottish Highlands. His debut album ‘Ten Sketches of Light’ was voted Album of the Week on the Classic FM show Drive, and has received continued airplay since its release in November 2013. It reached number 33 in the UK classical album charts. It was re-released in May 2014 by Decca Records as ‘Sketches of Light’. His debut album has been used across TV, especially by the BBC, and has featured on several chart-topping compilation albums. It has twelve piano solo pieces which are inspired by light at different settings, times of day or weather. Classic FM described it in a review as "hypnotic, repetitive - but infinitely tuneful" and stated that the works have "a haunting quality and emotional resonance that deserve repeated listening."
Chapman Campbell's second album for solo piano 'Portraits of Earth', featuring new piano works, is scheduled for release in April 2016. As with his debut album, it was recorded and produced by award-winning classical engineer Phillip Hobbs.
