Al muzhir arabic kannada dictionary

Al Muzhir Arabic Kannada Dictionary is the first ever Arabic- Kannada dictionary in Kannada language. The dictionary is compiled by Abdul Shaheed Azhary , the research fellow of Al Azhar University Cairo, Egypt and is edited by M.S.M Abdul Rasheed Zaini Kamil , the known Islamic orator in Karnataka and the President of Sunni Students Federation of Karnataka. The huge dictionary, which has more than 600 pages, is published by Rahmaniya Book Stall, Kumbala.
Surely, Arabic Language came to India before thousands of years. It has firm root in India since the early age of Prophet Muhammed (S.A). Historians are of the opinion that the Arabic language came to India with the advent of Islam in the seventh century A.D. But, unfortunately, Arabic study in the Universities and Colleges were replaced by English language since the beginning of the British Colonialism thus English became the player of land.
To relocate the Arabic language in the institutions and colleges there are some attempts made. As part of it, the prevailing Islamic institutions all over India ensured the use of language in the teaching. The role of Dayooband Darul Uloom of Delhi in the twentieth century and of Samastha Madrasa system in the late part of twenty first century is to be referred in this regard. To promote the language, various Arabic introducing books came to light. The service of Malayalam language was great. Number of dictionaries and helping books published in Malayalam. Al Manhal and Al Kamus are some of them. Being the Malayalam the mother tongue of Kerala state, Karnataka's Arabic students didn't get benefit from these books. They had to tolerate the study of Malayalam language to get aid to study Arabic language. Most of the people relied upon Malayalam language. Here, as author says in the preface, comes to light the importance of such Arabic Kannada dictionaries, but no one prepared to meet this need because that task was too hard to do easily. One of the Kannada students of Paivalike Nagar School, Abdul Shaheed, entered into this task. The completion of the dictionary took Approximately 5 years.
