On June 14, 2002, Air Canada Flight 875, an Airbus A330, registered C-GHLM suffered a tail strike on departure from Frankfurt Airport on a flight bound for Montreal. One of the pilots accidentally entered an incorrect V1 speed into the aircraft flight management system, and the error went undetected by both pilots. During the take-off roll, the First Officer called "rotate" below the calculated rotation speed, the Captain initiated rotation, and the tail of the aircraft struck the runway surface as the plane took off. The aircraft suffered substantial structural damage to the tail, and returned to Frankfurt for a safe landing.
