Ahmed Abdirahman Omar

Ahmed Abdirahman Omar "Gidaamow" ( born 1 January 1981), is a Somali professional football manager and former player who managed several Somali Clubs . He is widely considered to be one of the greatest managers of all time in Somali Sports.

After an eventful career as a midfielder in the Somali Premier League, Gidaamow moved into coaching, first as a head coach for Heegan FC juniors in 2014, Ahmed Gidaamow became the Coach of Xamar Weyne district in 2014 Benadir Disrict Tournament,where he won the Tournament .
Club career
Ahmed Abdirahman Omar “Gidaamow" played for several clubs in Somali premier league ,he began his football career in 1994 at a time Somalia was experiencing the beginning years of 30 years long civil war .
He and all other Somali Sportsmen fought against armed forces through soccer and other sports ,his generation faced hardship,shortage of sports kits etcetera.
He joined his first team as a professional football player in 1994 at that time he played for Al-imra FC. also he played for SOS,Bariga Dhexe,S.I.T.T,Elman fc and Heegan.
Managerial career
After an eventful career as a midfielder in the Somali Premier League, Gidaamow moved into coaching, first as a head coach for Heegan FC juniors in 2014, Ahmed Gidaamow became the Coach of Xamar Weyne district in 2014 Benadir Disrict Tournament,where he won the Tournament .
Also Gidaamow became the manager of local Clubs such as S.I.T.T , Jeenyo,Daallo and Bariga dhexe .
After uneventful seasons in Bariga dhexe and Daallo ,In 2015 Ahmed Gidaamow became the coach of Heegan FC and took a quality and fruitful time with the club where he won several Cups such as General Da'ud Cup and Somali Premier League.
In 2018, Ahmed Abdirahman Omar became the coach of Raadsan Fc which was playing in Somali Second Division League at that time , after Hardwork he took Raadsan FC from the Second division league to first division league of Somali Premier League also Coach Gidaamow won the best manager award in Somalia with Raadsan SC.
In 2019,Inter-state national tournament took place in Mogadishu,Ahmed Gidaamow coached the Southwest State team which performed badly in previous tournaments, He took Southwest state team to the Semifinals where he lose against Banadir team.
On 8 March 2021,Ahmed Gidaamow became the 17th manager of Elman FC where he played as a player which played for the team in 2000s, Elman FC was performing very bad in Premier League where the team is struggling to win Somali Premier League title since 2012
