AgainstTheWest (hacking group)

AgainstTheWest or simply "ATW" is a hacktivist group that is said to have been involved in numerous data breaches involving the Chinese government. The group is in support of Taiwan & the prevention of the Uyghur Genocide.
Notable data breaches
* People's Bank Of China - On 14 October 2021, the People's Bank Of China was breached by AgainstTheWest. Highly technical Java-based source code was released to the public and both internal & external software source codes.
* Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention - On 23 October 2021, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention was breached by AgainstTheWest. Like the previous breach, Java-based source codes that were highly technical in nature was released to the public. The breach affected the Lenovo Healthcare Solutions service.
* Chinese Ministry of Public Security - On 31 October 2021, the Chinese Ministry Of Public Security was hacked by AgainstTheWest. Highly critical & technical source codes written in Java were released to the public.
* Chinese State Administration for Market Regulation - On 2 November 2021, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) was breached by AgainstTheWest. Around 800-thousand users were affected, which included country, weight, gender, name, email & phone number.
*Ministry of Science and Technology of China - On 11 November 2021, internal source codes were leaked by AgainstTheWest. Information regarding the Jiangsu Port & Keqiao district were leaked to the public
*Alibaba Cloud / Tencent - On 13 November, the sale of the Alibaba Cloud source code was put up for sale by AgainstTheWest. The group stated that it would post Tencent data next, which was confirmed later that day.
*Zhongtian Technology Submarine Co., Ltd. - On 13 November 2021, AgainstTheWest released the private source codes to Zhongtian Technology Submarine Cable Co's Windows & Linux API.
*17house Decoration Network - On the same day, 17house.com suffered a database breach that exposed 15K users. The leak contained names, addresses, genders & phone numbers of citizens within China. AgainstTheWest posted the leak the same day.
