Afrophile

Afrophile is a term constructed from the name Africa and the ancient Greek root -phile, which literally means love.
An Afrophile is anyone with strong interest in Africa; it's history, societies, economics, descendants, diaspora, and derivative cultures. Or one who loves food, fashion, music, languages, people having African roots.
It is uncertain who first coined the term Afrophile. However, early usage is evident in Richard Hall's 1967 "Zambia". As well as in Elliot Skinner's 1976 "An Afro-american Perspective".
