Adrián Macías

Adrián Macías (born 2003 in Carmona) is a Spanish student and one of the initiators of Virus Matemático. Famous for his participation in the December Action, and its subsequent media coverage, and for urging measures for a good education in mathematics in Andalusia. In December 2020, Adrián met with the director of education at the Education Department of the Regional Government of Andalusia. On 4 April 2021, Adrián held MatemAbril, an initiative of math games on the street.
Background
Adrián studies second year of high school at IES Arrabal, in Carmona. He was the winner of the Pangea contest in 2019, and has participated in the Mathematical Olympiad. He has been received by the president of the Seville Provincial Council due to that.
Personal
Adrián's work, both personal and academic, has been congratulated by the mayor of Carmona. In the province of Seville, Macías seeks to raise awareness of the importance of mathematics.
