Admiral (gambling)

Admiral Casino is a brand that includes a licensed online casino in the UK, as well as a chain of more than 200 gambling venues in the UK operated by Luxury Leisure. Its online casino includes slots, jackpot games, roulette, blackjack, table games, and live casino. Luxury Leisure is owned by Greentube Alderney Limited, part of the Greentube group, which in turn is owned by Novomatic.
Background
In the 2010s, Novomatic UK Group acquired Luxury Leisure, which operated seaside amusement arcades and other venues, as well as Talarius, which operated the Quicksilver high street gambling outlets. These retail gambling arcades were combined and rebranded as "Admiral". system Gamstop. In 2020 Admiral Casino rolled out Neccton’s Responsible Gambling solution “Mentor”, this tool records and reviews large volumes of player statistical data in order to identify problematic gambling behaviour.
Partners
In September 2018 Admiral Casino partnered with Scientific Games and Net Entertainment. Then in 2019 a further partnership was agreed with the iGaming provider IGT. In October 2020 Admiral Casino announced it had partnered with Evolution Live Casino studios. In May 2021 another gaming supplier was added, Blueprint Gaming ltd - In March 2022 Admiral Casino announced a partnership with Pragmatic Play.
Licenses
Admiral Casino is licensed to operate a remote gaming business in the United Kingdom from the UK Gambling Commission. Admiral Casino is licensed and regulated by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) (GCB).
Sanctions
In December 2021, Greentube Alderney limited received a regulatory sanction from the UK Gambling Commission after a regulatory review found failings in Greentube’s processes which were aimed at preventing money laundering and protecting vulnerable people. Greentube Alderney agreed a £685,000 settlement in lieu of a financial penalty, which will be directed towards delivering the National Strategy to Reduce Gambling Harms.

Planning applications
In 2022, an application submitted by Luxury Leisure to open a new 24-hour New Admiral Casino on the Lincoln High Street was denied by the planning department of the City of Lincoln Council. Luxury Leisure also applied to extend the hours for Admiral Casino on North Road, Durham, to operate 24 hours a day, where it has previously been restricted to opening from 9am to 10pm.
In 2021, Admiral Casino applied to move into the premises of a closed betting shop in Pontefract, and convert it into a slot machine venue. At the time, the Yorkshire Evening Post noted that the Admiral had already taken over a former William Hill shop in Wakefield, and that it was also operating in Castleford town centre.
