ADFM

Introduction
ADFM is a special rank in Eastern RailwayIndia. The full form of ADFM is Assistant Divisional Financial Manager. To get this rank,one has to pass the LDCE Exams which are held in June-July every year. The Exams are very tough and are very hard to pass. Deputy FNCO(Head of the Department) creates and checks the Question papers.
Advantages by becoming a ADFM
An ADFM will gain lots of respect, and of course,honour. Also, a ADFM reserves their seats for free when they are on a tour organised by the Railways because of the Metal Pass that they are given when they became a ADFM. An ADFM will also get 6 free passes to travel in AC 1st class coach. He will also need to go in Monthly Inspections,to check the status of various railway stations.
Becoming a ADFM
Becoming a ADFM is very tough.Very few people are selected among a wide range of applicants. There is also no syllabus to particularly read on and come.The questions are also very tough. There is very strict checking of the Question papers by the Deputy FNCO's.
Duties
The duties of the ADFM include:
* conducting monthly inspections of railway stations in the division
* signing payment slips of employees
* overseeing and controlling the financial department
* purchasing materials through tender
* other miscellaneous duties.
Eastern Railway has approximately 168,000 employees, about one third of the railway employees of the Indian Railway.
