ActiveModeler Avantage

The ActiveModeler Avantage BPM framework is a software system from the Japanese company KAISHA-Tec Co Ltd for optimizing business processes based on an extension of the standard BPM framework.
Use
The Avantage BPM system is used to model processes, perform detailed analysis on them to look for efficiency opportunities and to optionally automate these processes via an integrated ActiveFlow workflow engine. The Avantage BPM system is also often used in the preparation of ISO 9000 quality manuals. In this case, the software uses a Content Module which can provide correctly formatted parts of this quality manual automatically from the process model database. In classical process optimization projects, Avantage is used to describe business processes, add costing information to them and run analyses for optimization reporting. In this way, non-value adding activities and their associated burden can be highlighted. Importantly, Avantage is also used for the documentation of controls and risks for Corporate Governance (e.g. the Sarbanes-Oxley Act) and for reporting on them in a manner that can be presented to tax authorities for annual returns.
Functions
The Avantage BPM system consists of different modules/components. These are:
* BPMN 1.2 conform process modeling
* Export into different data formats for analysis or documentation (like XML, HTML, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project)
* Analysis via added meta information
* Risk management based on the COSO framework, for compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
* Automated process workflows
* Content module to produce process documentation including the process model
* Process Landscape for a high level view of the process model
Technology
Technically, the software is a “drill-down” graphical representation of a process model with an associated database image which makes analysis and reporting possible. It is used in many industries and sectors for the modeling of processes, the supply chain, use case scenarios, risks, controls and for optionally executing these processes over the web. machining time and probability of entrance (at edges).
The modeling is simplified with the use of sub processes which hide the complexity at the highest level.
Operation
Avantage operational usage can be with a single user or by a full process modeling team working together and sharing the corporate process model with version control. Rich and important information on the process can be built up and the execution of the process can be achieved as well. In so adding this content and optimization ability, Avantage represents a substantial difference from over simple flowcharts and other representations for modeling.
Avantage platform
All Avantage products and plugins are integrated including the workflow and the versioning software. They operate essentially on the Microsoft Windows platform but the versioned database repository can be also housed on the Linux platform.
Standards supported
BPMN 1.2, XPDL 2.0 are supported.
