Acoupstix (born Jordan Andrew Carreno) is an American rapper from the suburbs of St. Petersburg, Florida. He is of Caucasian and Mexican American decent. He is most notable for his freestyling abilities and his 3 mixtapes. Biography Jordan Andrew Carreno, better known by his alias Acoupstix, was born on January 13, 1991 in Tampa Bay Florida to his mother LeAnn and his father Kevin. He would attend Shorecrest Preparatory School from Kindergarten to 3rd grade before moving to England for four years. Upon returning from England, Acoupstix would return to Shorecrest where he would begin to write raps and record them. Acoupstix would then attend Lakewood High School where he would continue to write and record his very first hip hop songs. However, he would leave Lakewood to once again attend Shorecrest for his sophomore and junior years. After an incident during a football game, Acoupstix would be expelled from Shorecrest in November of his senior year. Following his expulsion, Acoupstix would openly pursuit a career in the hip hop music industry and would begin to record more and more of his music. After enrolling at Florida International University, Acoupstix recorded 3 mixtapes and released them within 4 months of each other on his Facebook and Myspace pages. No Shirt, No Shoes, No Purpose No Shirt, No Shoes, No Purpose was the first mixtape released by Acoupstix on January 9 of 2010. It featured remixes to a variety of songs including Drop the World by Lil Wayne, Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus, Nike Boots by Wale, and many others. Totaling 13 tracks, the mixtape is still available for download through both his myspace and facebook pages. Won Weeks Work (W.W.W.) The Won Weeks Work mixtape, also known as the W.W.W. mixtape, was released 9 days after the No Shirt, No Shoes, No Purpose mixtape. The concept behind the W.W.W. mixtape was for Acoupstix to make one track each day for a week. The 7 tracks were available to the public on January 18, 2010 and featured remixes of the songs As I Em by Asher Roth, Jamrock by Damien Marley, CREAM by Wu-tang Clan, and 4 others. The mixtape tracks are named according to the day that Acoupstix started, recorded, and finished the track. This mixtape is also still available for download. Man vs. Man The Man vs. Man mixtape was released on April 14, 2010 and featured both remixes and original songs. Acoupstix remixed only two songs on this mixtape which were 10 Crack Commandments by Notorious BIG, which he renamed the 10 Cracker Rapper Commandments, and Spartibus by Canibus, which he would renamed The New World Part 1. Seven of the tracks featured instrumentals that Acoupstix found on youtube. One song on the mixtape entitled Biography(The Other Side Remix) was fully produced by Acoupstix from lyrics to beat. He would use the popular Red Hot Chili Peppers' song The Other Side to create the beat and as inspiration for his lyrics. This mixtape can also be downloaded still. The Index The Index is a mixtape that Acoupstix is currently working on. There is no word as to when the mixtape will release or how many tracks will be featured but 3 tracks have already been leaked through his facebook and youtube account. Two songs feature instrumentals found on youtube while the third is on the Safe and Sound Dub by Rebelution. The third track is a diss towards fellow white rapper Chris Webby. This track was released on May 13, 2010 and has yet to receive a response from Chris Webby. The inspiration for this mixtape's title stems from an Acoupstix lyric that states "Fuck your two fingers I'm never ever peacing, drop the index to see my passion releasing." Lose it Lose it was a collaboration track done by Soft Revolution, a techno DJ from France, and Acoupstix. The song featured an original instrumental by Soft Revolution with original vocals and lyrics by Acoupstix. The final version of the song was produced by Soft Revolution and was released on March 30, 2010. The song is available for download through Soft Revolution's sound cloud page.
