ACityDiscount

ACityDiscount is an American retailer of new and used restaurant equipment and supply. Founded by Bill Stack in 1973, this family owned business has operated from the same building in southwest Atlanta, GA, since its inception.
History
For the first 25 years, ACityDiscount focused its business on the buying and selling of used restaurant equipment in Georgia. However, in 1999, while under the ownership of current CEO John Stack, Bill Stack’s son, the company experimented with selling a small group of items on eBay. The results were so successful that in 2000, ACityDiscount decided to close its Atlanta used equipment showroom and focus its energies on the expansion of their eBay and Internet presence by selling new foodservice equipment.
In 2003, eBay awarded ACityDiscount with Best Merchandiser at the eBay Seller Summit. Since then, ACityDiscount has been featured in numerous articles, books, and media publications. Notable titles include The eBay Millionaire: Titanium PowerSeller Secrets for Building a Big Online Business by Amy Joyner and Overcoming the Obstacles by Marcia Layton. In 2007, ACityDiscount was listed as one of the “The Fastest Growing Private Companies in America” by Inc. 500.
With the downturn in the economy forcing many foodservice businesses to close, and restaurant customers requesting to buy used restaurant equipment, ACityDiscount reopened its Atlanta Showroom to the public in July 2008. Today, the showroom mainly stocks used restaurant equipment, furniture, and kitchen supplies, with new equipment occasionally obtained from manufacturer liquidations or bulk purchases.
ACityDiscount is active on all major social networks including LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook, which they use to offer exclusive discounts to their customers.
ACityDiscount is a Bronze Corporate Sponsor of the Georgia Restaurant Association, and a member of the Professional eBay Sellers Alliance and the eCommerce Merchants Trade Association.
