About Life is a chain of "holistic lifestyle hubs" operating in Australia. Their prime objective is to provide a healtby alternative to Australia's 2 main supermarkets. Each About Life store contains an in-store cafe, deli, Fruit and Veg and a self serve eatery. They primarily operate in Sydney and Melbourne. History About Life was established in 1996 in New South Wales as a juice bar, by sisters Jodie Stewart and Tammie Phillips. The concept that evolved into the wholefood store that About Life eventually became came from Japan, the sisters spent time in Japan and gathered ideas they felt would be useful foe their business. Over time as the business concept changed, the business also grew. They currently have 4 stores throughout Sydney and Melbourne. 2016 Thomas Dux Grocer Expansion Throughout 2016 About Life acquired 4 store leases from the outgoing Woolworths-owned Thomas Dux Grocer. They acquired the former Thomas Dux stores at Lane Cove, Crows Nest, Surry Hills and Port Melbourne. All of these stores were rebranded as About Life by July 2016, however in 2018 About Life closed the Lane Cove and Crows Nest stores, which were taken over by Flannerys.
