Abhilash Shetty (born September 3, 1993) is an Indian filmmaker, screenwriter, and actor. He made his directorial debut with the Kannada film Koli Taal, which premiered at 21st New York Indian Film Festival. His film screened and won numerous accolades at various film festivals in the US, Australia, Germany and South Korea. Early life Shetty was born on 3 September 1993 in Shimoga, Karnataka. He did his schooling in a boarding school Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Gajanur, Shimoga. Later he did a Bachelor of Commerce in ATNCC, Shimoga. After graduating, he worked as a financial analyst for two years at Capgemini in Bangalore, and then he quits his job to pursue his filmmaking dreams. Career Before his directorial venture Koli Taal, Abhilash wrote and directed short films called Crony, Vinashi, and 2 Missed Calls which screened at over 20 International film festivals. Abhilash wrote, directed, and edited his debut feature film Koli Taal which screened at the 21st New York Indian Film Festival, 18th Indian film festival of Stuttgart, Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, IFF Cincinnati.
