Danish Renzu (born March 11, 1986) is a Kashmir director and screenwriter. He made his directorial debut with the short film In Search of America Inshallah (2014) which was selected in worldwide film festivals. In 2015, he directed his first feature film Half Widow, set in Kashmir. The film is currently in post-production. The film is the first film completely shot in the conflict driven Valley of Kashmir with a Kashmir cast playing the lead characters. The film stars Kashmiri actress Neelofar Hamid (Valley of Saints) as the leading lady. He is currently working on his next two feature films The Illegal and Pashmina which are currently in pre-production. Early life Danish was born in Srinagar, Kashmir. He came to Los Angeles in 2005 to pursue Engineering and attended the University of California Los Angeles where he graduated in 2010 with Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.<ref name=aaa/> |
