Abdurrahman Mohammad Fachir

Abdurrahman Mohammad Fachir (born November 26, 1957, in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan). is an Indonesian diplomat. Fachir served as the Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt until June 2011 when he returned to Jakarta. He was nominated for the position by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and sworn in on September 5, 2007.
Fachir arrived in Egypt on 30 October. and presented his credentials to President Hosni Mubarak on June 16, 2008. He previously served as Deputy Chief of Mission to Malaysia from 2004 to 2007. Prior to that, Ambassador Fachir served as Translator of President Megawati Soekarnoputri. From 1999 until 2002, he served as the Head of the Political and Security Section at Indonesian Foreign Ministry.<ref name="banjarmasinpost.co.id"/>
Fachir graduated from Jakarta Islamic State University in 1983. He married Yasmin Sukmawira and has three children: Ifa, Ila and Ais. In addition to Indonesian, Fachir speaks English and Arabic.
