Abdulhadi Najjar () (born 9 June 1974) is a Syrian environmental activist, non-fiction writer, and civil engineer. He studied civil engineering at the Homs University, earned DESS degree of Environmental Risks from Damascus University, and got a master's degree of Risk Management from University of Poitiers. Najjar is the founder and editor-in-chief of Akhbar Al-Biaa (Environment News), Arab first environmental daily online, and is described as Arab pioneer of environmental education online. His articles on environmental issues are published biweekly in Environment and Development magazine, the leading pan-Arab environment magazine, and republished by a vast number of Arabic newspaper and websites such as Al-Hayat newspaper, one of the leading daily pan-Arab newspapers, Al-Biaa Al-Aan (Environment Now), and Afaq Bieaa (Environmental Prospects). Najjar is a talented photographer, and many of his photos of monuments were aired on Al-Jazeera, Al Arabiya, and BBC Arabic TV channels. He is also the producer and director of Palmyra Life and Civilization documentary, and the project manager of the award winning Homs Environmental Center. Akhbar Al-Biaa Abdulhadi Najjar launched Akhbar Al-Biaa (Environment News) in December 16, 2003 to be the first Arabic daily environmental news website in the Middle East. In spite that Najjar's initiative was individual at the beginning, it soon became a team work by many volunteers who look for a better environment. The website was awarded Ford Motor Company Conservation and Environmental Grants in 2004 and 2005. Abdulhadi Najjar ceased Akhbar Al-Biaa in April 4, 2008 with a total of 4467 entries.
