Screenplay
The screenplay is a free adaptation of "The Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka. Pedro (Gregor Samsa) is the main character, who, due to his father pressure, wakes up one day feeling different. Instead of the bug metamorphosis that happens in the original novel, in this script Pedro become psychologically ill. Another difference from the original novel, is the fact that Pedro has an incestuous relationship with his sister Ines (a reference to the Portuguese historic romance between the Prince Pedro and Ines de Castro).
In the film, there's a reference to the bug from Kafka's novel, when Pedro holds a cockroach, toward the end of the film.
