75 Minutes was a weekly podcast focusing on the independent music world. Recorded and broadcast from New York City from July 2005 until February 2007, the weekly show featured a wide variety of musical styles pop, electronic, punk, noise, metal, and experimental music. The show was hosted by Mike and Lyssa, former hosts at WLUW in Chicago, now living in New York City. Their interview show "15 Minutes w/..." covered the independent music world in the artist's own words. Guests such as J+J+J, The Sarcastic Dharma Society, and Iris Garrelfs have appeared. 15 Minutes was one of very few podcasts that focused on interviewing musicians from the independent community. It was unique in that it was a show brought together by several collaborators, and not just a single DJ's point of view. A group of submitters from all over the world contributed by submitting songs. Independent music from China, Europe, the U.S., Australia, and elsewhere were represented to expand the scope of the show. Each submitter has a specific genre as an expertise, and is connected in some way with the independent music community in their respective countries. The podcast's title, "75 Minutes", was contrived by way of a miscalculation of the number of minutes on a single CD (74).
