500 Level

The 500 Level is the upper deck at Rogers Centre, which seats approximately 26,000. It is the cheapest seating area for Blue Jays Baseball ($11-$14), and is off limits for Toronto Argonauts football (except playoffs and Grey Cup). It is notorious for drunken fans and fan fights. It caused value games to go dry due to numerous fan brawls on value nights with $2 seats. Brawls are also very common during Blue Jays home openers, as numerous fan brawls break out, and have many drunk, and obnoxious fans. It has also had plenty of fights during NFL games in Toronto It has its upsides yoo as a culture for the Blue Jays. Home runs have hit into the 500 level, most recently by former Blue Jay Jayson Werth. Manny Ramirez hit a shot that bounced off a tarp covering empty seats in 2001, and it was measured at 491 feet.. Jose Canseco hit the first 500 level shot ever in the 1989 ALCS. It was one of his 3 homers in that game. Vernon Wells was the last Jay to hit one in the 500 level, during the 2004 season. During the 2009 Blue Jays home opener on April 6, 2009 against Detroit, fans started throwing paper airplanes into centre field , and it sparked a delay after fans started chucking balls and drinks onto the field. it was the first fan-caused delay in Rogers Centre history. It also has many seats with an obstructed view, all near the foul pole area and outfield seats. All seats have metal bars in front of them, due to the steepness of the bowl.
