361 Degree Minds

361 Degree Minds, also known as 361DM or 361° Minds, is an online learning providers to college students and corporates in India and overseas. They have university certified PG, UG and PG Diploma programs and non-formal learning programs on Communication Competency, Accounts Payables, Analytical Aptitude, Interview handling etc.
History
2006 - 2008
The company was founded in 2006 at Chennai India by alumni of Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani - Gopinathan Chakravarthy, Ritu Vinayak and Rammohan Parameswaran, class of 1991.
Early 2005, Gopi and Ritu spent time understanding the science of ‘adult learning’ studying the global research done around it, and put together an Adult Learning Guide, a set of 400-odd principles that can be used to design truly effective learning programs.
They narrowed down on 13 core areas of training for the modern managers. They designed their own learning process called MetaTraining , which literally means ‘beyond training’ or ‘above training’. Their first program of 361DM was “People Power thru Building Bridges”, which was taken by managers from twenty nationalities, working in India, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
Late 2008, the team decided to bring technology into learning.
2008 - 2010
The team studied how learning via remote modes (e-learning, online learning etc.) can be made effective, and they put together their Remote Learning Manual, which contained the dos and don’ts of designing programs and tech infrastructure for remote learners.
The team found none of the available LMSs as suitable, so they began creating their own technology platform (called i-meta), which took almost two years before it was ready for deploying.
2010 - now
The first online program of 361DM was Communication Competency builder. It was a simulation-based learning program meant for the college students. Later on, a game-based learning program on Accounts Payables 101 was built for professionals in India and Philippines.
In 2011, in collaboration with Annamalai University, 361DM started offering Online MBA, BBA, B Com variants to Indian nationals in India and overseas.
In 2013, Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER) collaborated with 361DM to launch their online programs.
In 2013, 361DM became BTEC Vocational Authorised Centre in India of Edexcel (a Pearson company), UK, and launched Online Award and Certificate programs in Management and Leadership.
