2016 North Korean uprising

The 2016 North Korean uprising or 2016 North Korean unrest refers to growing unrest in the northeast region of North Korea, the most undemocratic country in the world. The catalyst of the unrest was the 2016 North Korean floods. This region is historically the most opposed to the regime with high poverty, North Korean defectors, numerous labor camps, and now homelessness.

Most rebels are immediately killed by the regime. In is unsure if the uprising will be swift enough to overthrow Kim Jong-il.
International military intervention is likely, mostly for the rebels. Some fear the of aftermath could give rise to warlords. It is unsure what country might annex North Korea or if Reunification of Korea is possible.
