On 9 November 2012, an EADS CASA C-295 of the Algerian Air Force crashed in the Lozère department of southern France, near the town of Trélans. The C-295, a military transport aircraft built by Airbus Defence and Space, that operated the flight was registered 7T-WGF and had been delivered to the Algerian Air Force in 2006. It was en route from the Paris-Le Bourget Airport to Blida Airport in Algeria with a cargo for the Bank of Algeria when it crashed and caught fire at about 15:45 local time. There were six people on board, five members of the Algerian military and one civilian from the Bank of Algeria.<ref name"fg"/> The aircraft was written off as a hull loss as a result of the crash.<ref name"asn"/>
