2010 UKIP PZL-104 Wilga crash

During the general election in the United Kingdom on 6 May 2010, a light aircraft hired by the UK Independence Party for banner towing crashed shortly after take-off from Hinton-in-the-Hedges Airfield, Northamptonshire. The pilot and his passenger, Nigel Farage were both injured.
Aircraft involved
The aircraft involved was a PZL-104 Wilga 35A, registration G-BWDF. It was owned by Sky Banners, of Walton-on-Thames, Surrey. The aircraft was later repaired and returned to service. He remained in hospital overnight, thus missing the election result for the Buckingham constituency seat.
Investigation
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch have opened an investigation into the accident.<ref name=Mail/>
