The 139 Movement (, M139) is a political party in Italy led by Leoluca Orlando. The party was launched in May 2013 by Orlando, a five-time mayor of Palermo (1985-1990, 1993-1997, 1997-2001, 2012-2017 and 2017-2022) whose political career had spanned from Christian Democracy to Italy of Values (IdV), through The Network and The Democrats, along other two leading IdV dissidents, Felice Belisario (former IdV floor leader in the Senate) and Carlo Costantini (regional councillor in Abruzzo). M139 aimed at being "democratic" and partecipative. The party's name is a reference to the 139 articles of the Constitution of Italy. In the 2017 Italian local elections in Palermo the M139 obtained 8.6% of the vote, enough to be the largest party in the fractured local centre-left coalition. In January 2018 Orlando, who had also revived The Network through The Network 2018, and his followers, notably including his deputy mayor and The Network 2018 member Fabio Giambrone, joined the Democratic Party. For their part, Belisario abandoned active politics and Costantini joined Action in 2021.
