Zennon Kapron

Zennon Kapron is a financial technology and digital currency expert based out of Shanghai, China.

Early life & education

Zennon was born in Ottawa, Canada and studied computer science for his undergraduate bachelors degree at Syracuse University in New York State. After graduation he joined Citigroup's management associate program and over the next 5 years worked in New York, London, and Zurich, culminating in his role as Head of Technology for Citigroup Portugal.

In 2003, he then went back to do his MBA at INSEAD and graduated in July 2004 after having spent time on both INSEAD's Singapore and Fontainebleau campuses. After graduating from INSEAD, Zennon moved to Shanghai China with Intel where he was the Global Banking Industry Manager and managed Intel's Sales and Marketing strategy for the Financial Services Industry.

Career

Zennon left Intel in 2006 and shortly after, helped setup Kapronasia, a Shanghai-based financial industry research and advisory company. He is a regular participant in industry events both in Asia and globally covering all topics financial technology and digital currency. Zennon is also the author of Chomping at the Bitcoin: The History and Future of Bitcoin in China published by Penguin in August 2014.
