Zameer Hassan Kazmi

Zameer Hassan Kazmi was an Indian writer and advocate for Indian independence. He was educated in Allahabad.

Kami contributed articles on diverse topics to leading newspapers, periodicals and the foremost news agency The Press Trust of India.

His social works and researches on the sacrifices made by Hindus particularly Dutt Brahmins and Sindhis for Muslims is notable. Scholars, the press, eminent political leaders and high ranking officers have eulogised his research work, his literary pursuits and social services, which include the recovery and rehabilitation of hapless abducted girls from Pakistan immediately after the partition.

V.S. Dutta has said (15 August 2004):

"But in spite of the climate of hatred generated against Muslims, lakhs and crores who did not migrate to Pakistan. And among those Muslims there was courageous souls too like one of our esteemed readers and contributors, Mr. Zameer Hassan Kazmi, who undertook the stupendous task of going to the roit affected areas of Pakistan and rescuing several Hindu abucted girls."

Kazmi is the author of article "Imam Husain's Hindu Devotees" published in The Illustrated Weekly of India, Vol. XCII II, March 14, 1971. He has undertakeb unique research on the sacrifices made by Hindus, particularly Dutt Brahmins, for the Muslims. (The Dutts belong to Mohyal caste. Some of the eminent Mohyals include the late General Kulwant Singh, Colonel Zorawal Singh Dutt, Mr. V. R. Mohan, Sunil Dutt, Geeta Bali and Om Prakash). His articles, published in periodicals and newspapers, are chiefly on the subjects of communal harmony and Indian national integration.
