You'll Love It (ABC Television Network)
You'll Love It! was a slogan used on the ABC television network during the 1985-86 season. This was the very first promotional campaign under ABC's new parent company of the time, Capital Cities (also later known as Capital Cities ABC). However, it was developed during the former regime. In addition, this was the fourth and final campaign for the network that television news composer Frank Gari was associated with. The campaign jingle was based entirely on Randy Newman's 1983 hit song I Love L.A., but the network's version of the song was performed by soul musician, and network promo pioneer Richie Havens. Havens had already performed the lead vocals for NBC's Just Watch Us Now campaign in 1982, and CBS's first series of We've Got the Touch in 1983. This was the first and only ABC campaign he has done.
The network, for the first time in years took a new direction in its promotional image; a real [...]-edge rock-n-roll campaign to help attract its younger teenage audience to the network.
Was adopted by Australia's Nine Network stations in Brisbane and Adelaide in 1986.
