Ygtheboy

Frederick M. Grimaldi 3rd (Born August 15th, 1996) Professionally known as Ygtheboy. Born in Staten Island, New York. During his childhood he moved to New Jersey as he found his passion for producing beats and writing music.

Ygtheboy is an American rapper, songwriter, producer, and engineer known for blending modern hip‑hop with the musical traditions he grew up around — especially 1980s–1990s disco and iconic artists like Michael Jackson, Sugar Hill Gang, Aerosmith, and Guns N’ Roses.

His inspirational drill hit “Flexin” was a sensational song that brought a new look onto how the drill sound can be diversified in hip hop. The song charted at #61 on the iTunes Top 100 charts. Ygtheboy created a sound that contains the original Jersey club sound with a unique style used in popularity to hip hop.

Early Life

Ygtheboy was born August 15,1996, In Staten Island, New York to Italian-American parents to whom have Historical-Family roots that began on Ellis Island. His Grandfather, Frederick Grimaldi, WWII Veteran played the Harmonica and was also a Poet during his lifetime. Before High school Ygtheboy moved to New Jersey with his family to get a proper education. He later then Graduated parochial high school at Saint John Vianney in 2014.

He began creating Music at the age of 15 as a Producer and would later transition into a Recording Artist. Influenced by hip hop's sub-genre of trap music and the melodic tonality of Rap genre. Being Inspired by DJ Khaled at a young age gave Ygtheboy versatile mindset starting into music production at the age of 16 years old. “All I Do Is Win” a popular record released in 2010 encouraged Ygtheboy to start his music career as a producer in 2015.

Career

Musician, Ygtheboy drops his Hit single “Flexin” on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, Soundcloud, & many more music streaming services. His song performs a Jersey-Drill with a melodic tune that shows a trendy taste to the Hip-Hop Industry today. This single was written to his fanbase as he expresses talking about how dark his life is in the jersey club scene. This project accumulated over 100k streams on Soundcloud and is on new up-rising playlists on Spotify.

His inspirational Drill hit “Flexin” that was released January 2021, charted at #61 on the iTunes Top 100 charts. After “Flexin” was released, it quickly trended to amassing more than one hundred thousand streams on SoundCloud, receiving more attention on other streaming platforms.
