Yeap Swee Chuan

Yeap Swee Chuan is a famous Malaysian Chinese businessman in Thailand. He was born on 8 March 1948 in Ipoh, Perak.

Family Background

Yeap Swee Chuan is the third son of Yeap Ooi Hin. His father Yeap Ooi Hin was born in Taiping, Perak and received Chinese education and English education at St. George's Institution. Yeap Ooi Hin was the second son of Yeap Ngoh Too (1892 - 1941) and Lee Chin Huat (1893 - 1951). Yeap Ooi Hin joined the Malayan Civil Service and had posted to Taiping, Ipoh and finally Kuala Lumpur. Yeap Swee Chuan married Teo Lee Ngo and has two daughters.

Education

Yeap Swee Chuan received his early education in Ipoh. He then furthered his tertiary education in New Zealand and graduated with a degree in Industrial Management and Engineering.

Career

Yeap Swee Chuan went to Thailand in 1986 at the age of 38 and ventured into the automobile sector. In Thailand, he commenced the Able Autopart Industries Co. Ltd. (AAPICO) a car components manufacturer firm. His company was later renamed to AAPICO Hitech Public Co. Ltd. and currently based in Ayutthaya.

His elder brothers Yeap Swee Kee and Yeap Swee Aun are managers of his factory in Malaysia. While Yeap Swee Chuan's main focus is in Thailand, where his firm, AAPICO was listed in the Thailand STOCK Exchange, where a limited 10 million shares were leased to public.
