Early career

At the age of 11 he joined the Heavenly Foundation Freestyle Team, all the while hoping to follow in his older brother's footsteps. "Through those years, I always looked up to my brother and always wanted to compete in what he did which was freestyle moguls. What really inspired me to do that was all the tricks he was doing. I really got into the tricks after I saw my brother enter a competition year after year called "Huck-fest." He always did the coolest looking tricks and that's when I wanted to follow in his footsteps."

Ski Team

By 2003, Yamato had joined the Heavenly Foundation Freestyle Team. "Everytime I hit the mountains, I tried to be as much of a mogul skier as possible by making those short turns of groomed runs." Yamato has been competing in moguls ever since; competing in divisional competitions, Junior Olympics, US Selections, and US Nationals.

Personal life

"My father passed away when I was just 2 years old so the memories are a little shady and it's hard to remember him but I still think of him . My mom has been working at the Embassy Suites in Lake Tahoe since 1994 and is continuing to work there. My brother and I both attended George Whittell High School. He graduated in 2004, and I graduated in 2010. I am a big fan of the San Diego Chargers. I've been keeping up with them every since I went to my first game there and a player named LaDainian Tomlinson joined the team which was in 2001."

"Another sport I enjoy doing is baseball which I have been doing ever since t-ball. Baseball has always been a passion of mine. In highschool, during my Junior (11th grade) year, our team made it all the way to state but, unfortunately, fell to second place. The next year, we ended up winning state which was a big accomplishment."
