Background of the Club

Wyke Wanderers is a Football Club based in Wyke, Bradford, West Yorkshire in the United Kingdom.

Wyke Wanderers have been an established club since 1969, and are still going strong with age groups from Under 6's up to Senior level and also a girls team.

The club is a Charter Standard Club which means it adheres to all FA Regulations governing the running and administation of grass roots Football Teams.

Competing Leagues

All Junior teams from Under 6's to Under 16's compete in the Huddersfield Junior Football League.

The Girls Under 14's compete in the West Riding Girls Football League.

The Senior team are currently competing in the West Yorkshire League Division 2.

The Sunday team compete in the Bradford Sunday Alliance League Division 1A.'''

Home Ground

Wyke Wanderers Junior teams are based from Whitcliffe Mount School Playing Fields, in Cleckheaton, only 1 1/2 miles outside Wyke Village.

Wyke Wanderers also play at Wyke Manor School in Wyke village.

Website

The Website has been online for 4 years. It has gone through a number of different names, from wykewanderers.co.uk, to wykewanderers.com and now the correct web address is www.wykewanderers.net and is created and maintained by Website editor David Turner.

The Committee

The Wyke Committee are involved in the day to day running of the club. They are as follows:

The Managers

Under 6's and 7's are run by Jez Gladman. Under 8's are run by Mick Chippindale. Under 9's are run by John Lyons and Mick Kelly. Under 10's are run by David Turner. Under 11's are run by Sean Rodgers. Under 1's are run by Billy Davidson (ginger). Under 13's are run by Steve Vickers. Under 14's are run by Tommy Lawler. Under 15's are run by Mike Winnard. Under 16's are run by John Gibson. Girls Under 14's are run by Mark Collins.

Seniors are run by Terry Milnes. Sunday Team are run by Lee Hammerton.

Honours

Wyke Wanderers have had many successful teams over the years. However it's biggest honour came by the Under 16's (Run by Steve Vickers) winning the West Riding FA County Cup in 2006.

Other successful teams include Terry Milnes' junior side which won many league's over 9 years, also Pete Murphy's juniors and also Mick Bell's juniors.

Promising teams such as Sean Rodger's juniors are showing that Wyke are still a talented club, by winning several leagues over the 4 years they have been running.

The Future of Wyke Wanderers

Wyke Wanderers is an ambitious club, and the club are currently considering starting a Youth Academy.

The Senior team are competing at a high level in the West Yorkshire League Divisionn 2 and it shows to be a promising future for the club.
