Worry Woos Series

The Worry Woos Series is a six book series written by Andi Green. Originally called The Monsters Inside My Head, the series was first displayed in a New York art exhibition in 2001. After much positive response from the public, Green began to expand the series in 2002, and published her first book in 2007. Since then, the series has won numerous awards and praises, including the Moonbeam Children's Book Awards and was featured on the Metro Parent Publishing Group's "IT" List. Set in the magical town of "Wooville", the series follows six different monsters as they face a variety of emotions that humans face every day. The series is meant to not only inspire children and parents alike, but it is also meant to teach people how to "embrace your emotions".

The Monster of Loneliness

The Monster of Loneliness is AbOUT Nola, the monster of loneliness. In her story, she lives alone outside Wooville and is upset because she has no friends. She wishes every day for someone to talk to and love, but every day she finds herself completely alone with only the sky and her own empty echoes. However, by the end of the story she finds friends who "were always there, but she just wasn't looking in the right place." This book is a reflection on many people's lives because everybody feels alone at sometime or feels as if they have no friends. It is easy to make friends if one just looks outside themselves. This book has won the Creative Child Preferred Choice Award, the 2009 TD Monthly Top Toy Award, and iParenting Media's 2009 Best Products Award.

The Nose That Didn't Fit

The Nose That Didn't Fit is about Rue, the monster of insecurity. In his story, Rue hates his very large nose. He tries everything from nose caps to make up, but nothing seems to make his nose smaller. One day, he decides to visit the Great Wizard. The Wizard tells Rue to "be true to yourself and love who you are", but Rue refuses to listen and the Wizard reluctantly shrinks Rue's nose. Later, Rue meets another monster named Ruthy, who has exactly the same nose he used to have. Realizing the mistake he made, Rue reverses the spell and his nose returns to normal. This book is a message to people everywhere to ignore what is on the outside because it is the inside that counts.
