World ice arena

World Ice Arena in Shenzhen was the first Olympic-size commercial ice skating rink in China. Opened on January 1, 2005, the rink is located in a luxury complex called The MIXc at City Crossing, which consists of a five-storey mall, an office tower, three residential towers, the 43-storey Grand Hyatt Shenzhen and a second outdoor mall. Major tenants include Gucci (largest store in Asia), Louis Vuitton, Dunhill, Ermenegildo Zegna, Valentino, Coach, Escada, Prada, Hermès, Armani and a multiplex cinema.

Ted Wilson, an American, is general manager of the rink, and vice–general manager of the City Crossing complex, owned by China Resources Shenzhen, a developer of luxury properties in China. Ted has since left this rink and was relocated to Hangzhou as the Ice Arena Director for the new World Ice Arena project there which opens in 2010.

The skating school is directed by former champion figure skater Chén Lù. Her husband, former Russian champion figure skater Denis Petrov, is the school's head coach.

In 2007 China Resources Land announced plans to include Olympic-size ice arenas in luxury commercial projects in Hangzhou, Shenyang and Chengdu, for which Wilson is project director.
