Word of Thoth
The "Word of Thoth" is a fictional language created by Matthew Reilly that has, so far, appeared in Seven Ancient Wonders (published in U.S.A. as Seven Deadly Wonders), The Six Sacred Stones, and The Five Greatest Warriors.
In the books only the oracle twins and the Neetha tribe can read and speak the Word of Thoth, which comes up numerous times, and help guide the heroes through traps. 'Thoth' is the name for the Egyptian god of language, who had different forms, the most common of which is the ibis bird. The Word of Thoth has different languages inside itself, increasing in difficulty, that the oracles learn as they get older. In the first book it leads the heroes through the seven ancient wonders, from youngest (the Colossus of Rhodes) to oldest (the Great Pyramid).
A single horizontal line with a 'v' under it is not the number one in the Word of Thoth. The number one in the Word of Thoth is just a single horizontal line, and with the numbers two, three and four, another line is added onto the top of the line already there. The number five is four horizontal dashes, one on top of the other, next to a single vertical line, which itself is on the right. The number six is a single horizontal dash to the upper left next to four horizontal dashes, one on top of the other, all five dashes next to a single vertical line on the right. The number seven is the same, just with another horizontal line under the one to the left. The number eight is most probably the same as number seven, just with another dash under the ones to the left. The number nine is probably made the same way as number eight, by adding another horizontal dash. The number ten has two sets of four horizontal dashes with one vertical line on either side. I assume the person whose work I have corrected got the idea of the 'v' under the number from the sequel of 'The Seven Ancient Wonders', 'The Six Sacred Stones' from the list of the six vertices. The 'v' under the number means 'cleansed',how many times you need to put the pillar in the firestone and the Philosophers stone. My proof for my numbering system being correct is in the same book. At the end of 'The Six Sacred Stones', when Jack West Jr is in The City of Bridges and finding the correct answers to the riddles written in the language of the Word of Thoth, most of the answers to Hieronymus's riddles were numbers in the Word of Thoth, mainly the numbers one and two. In the book it said that Jack West Jr jumped onto the stone bearing a single horizontal dash (for the riddles whose answers were one), and the stones with two horizontal dashes for the answer two.
