History

Woojer Ltd. was founded in January of 2011, by a group of Israeli and American scientists and entrepreneurs who wanted to replicate the tactile experience of a wearable woofer. They began building their first prototype, a wearable, matchbox-sized device, immediately after the company's foundation. In early 2013, they received a US$ 600,000 angel investiment to develop the product. By the end of the same year, the company ran a successful campaign at Kickstarter and raised US$143,377 which allowed them to produce and commercialize their first device. In late 2014, Woofer's first device became available online for purchase. Due to its relative originality and pioneerism, it received coverage from several media outlets. On May of 2016, the Forbes magazine included The Woofer's device in the list of "4 Wearable Products That I Can't Wait To Wear This Year".
