WONÁ Concept

WONÁ Concept is a Ukrainian bridal and eveningwear brand founded in 2009 in Lviv, Ukraine, by Ilona and Artur Shramko. The company specialises in the design, production, and international wholesale distribution of bridal gowns and formal evening dresses, operating manufacturing facilities in Lviv and Rzeszów, and showrooms in New York City and Los Angeles.

Following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the company opened a second manufacturing facility in Rzeszów, Poland, and raised ₴115,000 for Kyiv’s Okhmatdyt children’s hospital.

History

WONÁ Concept was established in 2009 in Lviv, Ukraine, as a home-based family atelier by Ilona and Artur Shramko. The brand began as a small workshop and later expanded its distribution internationally under the name Crystal Design.

In 2010, the company opened its first Crystal bridal salon in Lviv. By 2018, the brand began presenting its collections at major international bridal trade shows, including Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week (BBFW), New York Bridal Fashion Week (NYBFW), Bridal Week Harrogate, and European Bridal Fashion Week, marking its entry into the global bridal market.

In 2019, the brand opened a flagship Crystal salon in Kyiv and, in the same year, underwent a formal rebranding, changing its name from Crystal Design to WONÁ Concept. Also in 2019, the brand's first international flagship showroom opened at 123 Fifth Avenue in New York City.

After the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the company opened a second manufacturing facility in Rzeszów, to ensure production continuity and to support exports to European Union markets. Ten specialists were transferred from Lviv to train workers at the new site.

In 2022, the company raised ₴115,000 to support the Okhmatdyt National Children's Specialised Hospital in Kyiv, which sustained damage as a result of Russian missile strikes during the ongoing war in Ukraine.

In September 2023, WONÁ Concept opened a second United States showroom at 8600 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills, California. The opening was marked by a cocktail event attended by guests including model and actress Olivia Culpo, bridal industry professionals, and fashion journalists.

In spring 2026, WONÁ Concept and Eva Lendel presented their 2027 bridal collections during BBFW. In April 2026, WONÁ Concept presented a new bridal collection during NYBFW. In the same month, the brand presented its Spring 2027 collection at NYBFW.

Trade shows

In October 2024, WONÁ Concept and Eva Lendel staged a joint runway show at NYBFW, described as the brands' first formal combined presentation. WONÁ Concept presented its "Special Edition" collection, comprising 22 designs featuring bold silhouettes, mini dresses, jumpsuits, asymmetric lines, and volumetric textures combined with hand-embroidered layers. WWD published a gallery of the collection.

Wedding Sparrow described the collection as a reinvention of bridal fashion as a form of personal expression. The Zoe Report noted the brand's off-the-shoulder silhouettes with tulle draping among the season's notable off-shoulder interpretations. Green Wedding Shoes cited WONÁ Concept among the designers whose textural treatments — including feathers, bows, and lace headpieces — stood out at the 2025 collections. Esposa listed WONÁ Concept among the notable participants at the October 2024 edition of NYBFW alongside Justin Alexander, Viktor & Rolf, Monique Lhuillier, Zuhair Murad, and Georges Hobeika.

WONÁ Concept was included in the official programme for NYBFW Spring 2025, held in April 2025 in New York City. WWD published a gallery of the brand's Spring 2025 bridal collection.

In October 2025, WONÁ Concept and Eva Lendel returned to NYBFW to present their Fall/Winter 2026–27 collections. Industry coverage highlighted the brand's corset-led drop-waist silhouettes as part of a broader corsetry trend at the season's shows.

WONÁ Concept has participated in Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week since 2018. Industry trade publications have described the brand as one of the Ukrainian labels that have gained international recognition through consistent participation at the Barcelona event alongside major European bridal brands.

Operations

The company's manufacturing is based in Lviv, Ukraine, where more than 10,000 gowns are produced annually, and at the Rzeszów, Poland, facility opened in 2022. Each gown requires between 10 and 40 hours of sewing and hand-finishing by skilled workers.

WONÁ Concept maintains retail showrooms in Lviv, New York City (123 Fifth Avenue), and Los Angeles (8600 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills). The company employs more than 400 people across its locations.

The brand's gowns have been worn by public figures and influencers, including Olivia Culpo, Leonie Hanne, Venus Williams, Lana Condor, Rose Bertram, Tamara Kalinic, Rebecca Mir, Ariadna Gutiérrez, Valentina Ferragni and Ginta Biku.
