Winking (Company)
Winking is a Belgian Software company headquartered in Koekelare, West-Vlaanderen that develops software. The company was founded by Gerdi Staelens and Jan Vandenbosch in 1989. After the departure of co-founder Vandenbosch in 2001, the CEO position was fully handed over to Gerdi Staelens.
The company operates mainly in the European, Middle East and African (EMEA) region. The company's flagship products are Winkin' (accounting and commercial administration) and Print&Share.
History
Winking was the company that created the first Belgian administrative package, Winkin' 1.0, for Windows 3.0, presented at the Bureau '91 fair (18â25 September 1991). A version for Windows 3.1x was presented in May 1992 with the presence of Microsoft.
In 2001, Winkin' succeeds as first to display an invoice via Smart Tag in Microsoft Word as a Microsoft Benelux smart tag partner.
In 2008 the company was part of an economic business trip together with HRH Prince Philippe of Belgium, Duke of Brabant, where they also visited the Microsoft headquarters in Redmond.
In 2011 the European headquarters of Ricoh made an exclusive distribution agreement with Winking.
