Windows Blue
Windows Blue is the codename of an upcoming release of the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system.
The first news leak of Windows Blue occurred in August 2012, some months before Windows 8's official release date of October 26, when an un-named Microsoft source spoke to Chinese media about the OS, which was subsequently translated by ZDNet.
This update to Windows 8 will introduce several updates from the original version, including the ability to resize Start screen tiles, as well as support for 7 and 8 inch tablet screens. It will also include significant updates to the SDK; while apps designed for the original release of Windows 8 will still function, Microsoft will require all apps in the Windows Store to be rewritten for the by then-current version.
Users of the original version of Windows 8 will be able to upgrade free of charge, however, they must be running a genuine copy of Windows for it to work properly, or all Modern UI apps will cease to function.
There are reports from WinUnleaked (an online Windows community) of a 957x build range of post-RTM Windows 8 builds, which are builds of the upcoming "Windows Blue". However, no screenshots have been provided as of yet.
