Winchester Film Festival

The Winchester Film Festival is a free public event which takes place over three days in October each year.

The festival programme comprises of film screenings & special events that take place at locations across the City of Hampshire and is supported by School of Media & Film at The University of Winchester, Hampshire UK.

The festival also serves as an International student film competition. Call for entries open in June with the deadline for submitting a film in August. 75% of WFF income is from sponsorship and corporate donations. This revenue directly supports the programme of films and events, the student film competition and the School of Media & Film at The University of Winchester.

The WFF awards for Best Narrative, Best Experimental, Best Documentary, The Audience Award & The Future of Film Award (14-19yrs)

Best Narrative recognises new interpretation and innovation in filmmaking. Best Experimental recognises the free spirit of creativity. Best Documentary recognises a singular and compelling achievement in the field of non-fiction filmmaking. The Future of Film Award acknowledges the 14–19 years demographic. The 2009 competition theme is the “Olympics”
