William Ware Brazel
William Ware 'Mack' Brazel was an American rancher best known for finding debris near his home which became known as the Roswell Incident.
Early life and career
Brazel was born on April 28, 1899, in Grant County, New Mexico, one of six children to William Ware Brazel Sr. and Anna Jane Wiggins. He married Margaret May Wilson in 1919, in Carrizozo. They had 5 children together. On July 4, 1947, Brazel gained worldwide fame. While he was living in Corona, New Mexico he noticed strange metallic pieces near his property. He immediately phoned the sheriff in Roswell to investigate. In a strange turn of events Brazel reported to the authorities he wasn't sure what he saw and that he saw more debris a few weeks prior on June 14. Initially he speculated it was an extraterrestrial but this was what he had heard off the military. This event is known for popularising the idea of UFOs and the existence of aliens in the U. S. and abroad. In July 2024 he was honoured with a star on the Roswell Hall of Fame on Pioneer Plaza
Later life
Brazel passed away on October 1, 1963, in Catron County, New Mexico at the age of 64.
