William Inabnet

William B. Inabnet, MD is the Chief of Endocrine Surgery And Co-director of the Thyroid Center at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City.

Dr. Inabnet has pioneered new techniques in minimally invasive endocrine neck surgery, adrenal, and pancreatic surgery techniques (SRC 2007). He is also a leader in the field of minimally invasive bariatric surgery with an interest in disorders of the endocrine system in obese patients, especially Type 2 diabetes. Dr. Inabnet is a co-investigator for 1 of 6 US medical centers to receive multimillion dollar NIH funding to study bariatric surgery over the next 5 years (the Longitudinal Assessment of Bariatric Surgery) (NYP 2004).

==Selected Publications== Dr. Inabnet has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, as well as textbooks. He lectures throughout the world and was recently inducted into the Society of University Surgeons and the French National Academy of Surgery, a rare honor for non-French surgeons.
