Wilene Dozier
Wilene Dozier (30 October 1955 - ) is founder and CEO of SWIGames1 now Edocero2 a faith-based games developer and publisher
Background
Dozier was born in Jacksonville, Florida. She received her B.A. from Florida State University, a M.S.L.S. from Clark Atlanta University and J.D.from Texas Southern University
Career
She practiced law throughout the 1990s, eventually forming a game publishing company,3 specializing in Christian games. The company's first game, EXODUS, entered the Christian games market in 2003. One of a few female CEO's in the game industry and the only African-American female CEO she regularly attends the Microsoft sponsored Blacks in Gaming networking event held at the annual Game Developers Conference.
Initiatives
In keeping with the mission to diversify the games industry, Edocero and other sponsors, such as Clickteamoffers the Urban Game Design Camp for African-American middle school and high school students on the campus of Edward Waters College,a HBCU, where she is an adjunct Professor.
Community Service
She co-founded PRIDE Book Club 4, 14 years ago, an African-American club of avid readers.
