West End 25 Apartments, NW Washington, DC
West End 25 is located at 1255 25th Street, in the West End and center of Washington, DC. It is an apartment residence. It is one the first communities designed to be certified as LEED Silver in the Capitol. Area attraction are; historic Georgetown, Dupont Circle, and the central business district. West End 25 accommodates access to Rock Creek Park, a large urban natural area with public park facilities administered by the National Park Service.
Overview
West End 25 was established in 2009. It is a 10-floor apartment community designed by Shalom Baranes Architects, PC, a Washington, DC architectural firm. The firm has an acclaimed reputation for its expertise in residential, commercial, governmental, institutional and sustainable design. Also included in the design is ForrestPerkins who have a global, award-winning portfolio of hotels, resorts and wellness developments.
Building
The building's exterior has a mirror-like appearance and it was designed with open layouts and floor-to-ceiling windows. A special feature of the build is that it has low-emitting VOC (volatile organic compounds) paints, carpets and sealants for air quality. An air filtration management system leverages outside air with the indoor air. It is also the one of the first apartment residences in Washington D.C. to be LEED Silver Certified.
